Hello and welcome to Kinder Institute! We, the Directors and Founders of the Kinder Institute programs, have over 50 years of combined clinical experience in the fields of Social Work, Psychology, Education, Mental Health and Disabilities. We created Kinder Institute to resolve the issue that services available to families in Central Florida tend to not be coordinated and, therefore, are fragmented.
All too often, families came to us overwhelmed with trying to navigate the maze of doctors, therapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and school systems who rendered multiple diagnoses, prescriptions, treatment and behavior plans for their children. Though each of these professionals was making a beneficial contribution toward the child’s progress, each piece was in isolation of the other without a comprehensive plan for the “whole child”. Family resources of time and money were rapidly drained while shuttling their child to numerous appointments. More importantly, there was a lack of reinforcement of therapeutic goals across disciplines, impeding the child’s advancement.
Kinder Institute is committed to providing the much needed comprehensive care for special needs children and their families. All services are available under one roof and each family has a Personal Care Coordinator to assure that each child’s needed therapy builds on his or her other therapies for optimal success. The Personal Care Coordinator also is available to assist families with services and programs outside of Kinder Institute, for example attending Individual Education Plan meetings with the School Boards.
At Kinder Institute, we understand the challenges of finding the resources to help your child. You are not alone. We are here to help you, your child, your family, and the community. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your concerns or suggestions. Together we will make a difference in the lives of our children!
Sincerely,
Uschi Schueller, LCSW
